I've finally arrived in Sydney. It's a lot different than I expected so far. It looks very similar to the U.S. People drive on the 'wrong' side of the road. The crosswalks are really weird. There are palm trees. The birds are so weird and make the strangest noises. But overall it's very similiar. Maybe that's because I just came from a third world country.
I didn't wake up from a rooster today, which was nice. But I did wake up because I was so cold. At night it gets down to 50 degrees and I didn't have time to buy blankets and a comforter today. It was so cold last night. All I had was sheets. I only packed two sweatshirts because I didn't have room for more and I could have used six more last night! But I'm going to Ikea today I'm I'm buying some blankets! And possibly a mini heater. If it's cheap.
Today I have orientation and then I'm going to a pizza party because it's free and I like free things. Especially when I have to pay for food. After I get pizza I'm going to downtown Sydney and I'm buying stuff for my apartment. Besides blankets, I need a rug for my bathroom. I keep slipping because it's tile. But if it's more than $5 I'm not getting one. I'd rather spend my money on traveling.
When I got off the plane yesterday, our Australian guide was like "get on your coats! It's freezing outside!" It was like 70 degrees. Haha.
Well I'm going to eat breakfast and go to orientation! I miss you all!!
:)
