Bula,
This will for sure be the last time I have internet until I arrive in Australia. Our internet went out at home so I'm at an internet cafe in Suva. Even here the internet is so slow! It kills me.
Today we are going to Mosquito Island with my family. Don't worry mom, it's not really filled with mosquitos. It's just the name of the island. My host sister said we can swim there or take a boat? Hopefully we take a boat.
Today we were at town again shopping for souvineers. It's the last time we can do it before we leave. I already bought everyone in my family something except my dad. I had no idea what to get him. But I found him something today and I had a great time bargaining with the shop owner about how much to pay. I now know how to do it. You say you saw it cheaper somewhere else and walk out of the store. They will ask how much you saw it for. You name a price. They give it to you for that price or sometimes lower. I will miss that in the U.S. :)
I feel like I've actually gained weight here. it doesn't help that both my na and ta are cooks. In Fiji we have breakfast, morning tea (cookies, cake, and tea), lunch, afternoon tea (same as morning), and then a large dinner.
Skittles here are different too. Last night some friends and I went to see the new movie Salt and I bought some. The purple one is blackberry here and the green one is apple. They all taste different though.
OH! Last night i had to give a speech at the farewell dinner. Stinking Safaira told me two minutes before I had to give it. It was so awkward. I had to thank all the families for letting us come into their homes. Afterwards, I had to lead a song. IT was embarrassing but I had fun.
I haven't seen Philip too much, but I'm going to see him tonight at our Kava night. I'm officially the picture taker. I don't want any more Kava!
Tomorrow I am leaving my host family. AIFS is going to Eco park. I heard we are swimming in the sea again? Everyone here jokes all the time so I can never tell when they are being serious or just joking.
Well my computer is running out of minutes, so I have to go. I miss all of you!
P.S. Brooke, the stamp on your postcard is a collecters stamp. People look for these stamps, but you can only get them in Suva. Lol, not that you collect stamps. I just thought it looked cool.
