Traveling!!

Hey guys!

I finally have some sort of idea when I will travel and to where.

So today I got an email from the internship department saying that the internship that I wanted already chose the candidate that they wanted. But that is okay because I'm going to free up my Thursday and Friday and work!! Australia is a great place to work because it will look great on a resume and I will make $20+ an hour. If I can make a thousand dollars or two, that would be great! So that is what I'm going to do. I've been applying, and I'm going to keep applying until I get the job I'm looking for.

So with this money from working, I'm going to travel with it. The places I want to go to most are Cairns to scuba dive, Darwin to see the outback and see Kakadu National Forest (supposedly the best in the world?), Alice Springs to see the desert, and to see Ayers Rock and Devils Marbles. And if possible, I want to go to New Zealand, Melbourne and Tasmania. And just like the U.S. traveling around Australia takes a great deal of money. So getting a job is probably a good idea.

So this is what I have planned traveling wise/adventures so far.

*This weekend I am going to see an Australian League Football game (AFL). It is played on a field in the shape of a circle? It's strange.

*The following weekend (27th-29th) I'm going with Philip to the Blue Mountains. The Blue Mountains are famous in Australia because of the formation called "The Three Sisters." It looks neat. So we will be hiking the mountains for the weekend.

*September 4th I'm going to Taronga Zoo! I'll be able to feed kangaroos :)

*From September 18-22nd I will be doing research with my ecology class by camping. That should be interesting!

*Philip and I are thinking of leaving on the 23rd to go to Cairns for five days to scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef! We will be living on a boat for four days and the last day we plan to tour the rainforest.

*From the 29th until October 8th we plan to go on a group trip. We would start off in Darwin, do a lot of cool things, and then travel by a safari jeep to many different places in the outback such as Alice Springs, Devils Marbles, Ayers Rock, see Twin Falls, Kings Canyon and many more. We also would live with the Aborigines for a day! I think that would be so cool!!

*October 16 we're going to Hunters Valley- a fancy winery. I guess it's touristy?

*November 6th I'm going to see an opera at the Sydney Opera House! :)

I also hope to get New Zealand in there, possibly Melbourne, and maybe Tasmania... but that is probably pushing it. It depends how good of a job I can find!!
